MAGGIE + ANTOINE

The incredible splendour of Lake Maggiore and the historic Villa Rusconi-Clerici was the perfect backdrop for Maggie's bespoke OWN gown.

With the brief "elegant yet show-stopping", together we designed a stunning fitted silk satin gown with beautiful ruching and draped details.

Every angle of the dress was considered, from the soft square cowl neckline and tapered pleated strap which framed Maggie beautifully, through to the incredibly dramatic train and delicate pearl necklace and cowl draping at the back.

It was important to @maggs_murray that the dress had beautiful yet subtle design details that could be seen from every angle - one of her favourite features was the pearl necklace draped across the open back as well as the intricate pleat detailing on the straps.

Maggie says, "The entire experience of creating a bespoke design with Rosie was an absolute dream come true."

On the wedding she says, "Situated directly on the lake in Verbania, the beautifully preserved late 19th-century house, with its English-style garden and eclectic neo-baroque decor, enchanted us with its grandeur and historic charm. Our wedding day unfolded like a dream, beginning with a ceremony in the flower-adorned waterfront garden, where the serene sounds of the lake and nature surrounded us.

I made a grand entrance by arriving in a vintage Italian wooden boat.

"Later, we moved to a beautiful pavilion for the reception dinner, a graceful wrought iron structure reminiscent of late 19th-century greenhouses. The cake-cutting took place in front of the villa, followed by our first dance in the atmospheric old cellars, which felt like a vintage club with their terracotta vaults, antique statues, and rocaille walls."
